Truly one of the highlights of my photography career was working with my comedy hero Nora Dunn. I grew up watching her every week on Saturday Night Live and was so honored to be able to meet her
Photos for the windy kitty cafe
In the winter of 2017, I spotted a colony of feral cats living in some abandoned buildings while I was out walking my dog and my life was forever changed.
I did some research and decided that Trap-Neuer-Vaccinate-Return of the feral cats was the best practice for their best wellbeing. I then became the caretaker for this colony for two years until all but one cat became friendly enough to be adopted. Fast forward to now and I am proud to say that I have become full enmeshed in helping street cats around the city.
To keep my sanity during the coronavirus outbreak, I took photos and videos of the adoptable cats at the Windy Kitty Cafe. The cafe had to close and needed to develop online profiles to showcase their adoptable cats, including two cats I rescued off the streets. The Windy Kitty Cafe has been a great partner and supporter to me during my cat rescue projects and I am always happy when I can give back to them.
Please check out their website if you are interested in giving one of these babies a forever home. If you are able to make a donation to help out the Windy Kitty during this difficult time, please throw them a few bucks via their GoFundMe page.
UPDATE: WGN Chicago got wind of my philanthropy and did a story about me that aired on the local newscast. You can check out the video here: https://www.tinasmothersphotography.com/wgn-news-story-on-tina/
